Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven is an open-world linear third-person shooter video game developed by Czech company Illusion Softworks in 2002 for the PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. In it, the player takes the role of Thomas Angelo, a taxi driver who is almost forced to join the criminal organization led by Don Salieri. The game is set between 1930 and 1938, during the Prohibition era and the rise of the Italian-American mafias in the United States. In 1938, Thomas Angelo walks into a bar in Lost Heaven. He has met Norman, a police detective, to propose a deal: he will tell him everything related to Don Salieri's mafia gang if the police provide protection for him and his family. However, the reluctant policeman wants to hear Thomas's whole history in the gang, so he begins to tell him.
